The District 5 Quarterly Meeting was held October 10, 2009 at the Glenn Fire Station. The citizens were updated on projects that have been completed and future projects. Mary Skinner, HART Assocciation member, gave an informative presentation about the new "Ben Franklin Kite Labyrinth" and invited all citizens to "Take your soul for a stroll." In an effort to help keep the citizens informed about what is going on in their county, first and foremost I would like to invite everyone to attend the Heard County Commissioner Meetings that are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 in the Heard County Court House.

Heard County School Officials, Sheriff's Office, Franklin Police Department, D.A.'s Office, EMA, Pastors, WGDTF, Mayor Yates, Mayor Crockett, Franklin Probation Office, Chamber of Commerce, Development Authority, Commission Chair, June Jackson, all gathered today to discuss "OPERATION MEDICINE CABINET". February 25-28 was set for the drop dates for citizens to drop off all old medicine no longer used to 2 sites - Franklin Fire Station #1 and Heard County Sheriff's Office. Medicine has to be in original containers. Further information will be updated on this site with much more detailed information.
